- Carry out day to day operations and responsibilities in the areas of trading / surveillance of an Exchange
- Maintain fair, orderly and transparent markets for all SMX listed instruments
- Work closely with the regulatory agencies to develop and enforce rules and regulations for market participants while continually updating internal policies and procedures
- Minimum 1 to 4 years of relevant experience either at
- an Exchange in its Trading / Market Surveillance, Operations Department;
- a Broking Firm having experience in operations, monitoring the trading, margining and handling customers
- an Investment Bank having experience in middle / back office operations
- Open to working in shifts
- Possess the right attitude for working in small teams, handling time critical and high pressure situations
- Possess a strong understanding of various risks and mitigation mechanisms in financial and commodity markets
- Well versed with various VaR tools and other volatility measurement tools
- Hand on experience in dealing with market participants in risk arena
- Experience in back testing and stress testing of the margining system and Clearing Fund in a CCP environment
- Sound knowledge of the front end and back end processes in an exchange environment
- Possess excellent communication skills and able to work well with external parties as well as internal
- A team player with excellent inter-personal skills and the aptitude to learn
- Possess an interest in a long term career in Capital Markets, with a strong analytical and numeric bent
- Single point of contact for support to internal users and external parties (ISVs, Data, Network vendors & Members), requiring trading and clearing access to the Exchange platform
- Knowledge of MS Technologies, financial markets, market access and data with strong inter – personal skills
- Knowledge of FIX protocol
- Experience in quality assurance and user testing is an added advantage
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant experience preferably in Equity Exchanges, Commodity Exchanges or brokering industry
- Plan and implement marketing & sales strategies with the objectives of consolidating and strengthening the Exchange’s competitive position in Asia Pacific
- Build a client base of businesses in the respective asset classes and generate revenue
- Monitor the Business Development Plan to ensure convergence with the Exchange’s strategy
- Represent the Exchange to potential clients, intermediaries, advisors, including but not limited to brokers, corporate, clearing houses and other relevant financial institutions
- Bachelor in business, economics finance or other related fields
- Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate competitive business strategy into relevant markets
- Possess excellent communication and inter – personal skills
- Minimum 8 – 10 years of experience with successful track record in financial markets at a leading international Exchange, financial institutions, Brokerage or commodity trading houses
- Design training modules and develop course content for all of the Exchange line of products
- Conduct training programs for internal staff and external members and representatives
- Conduct conferences and seminars for investors, traders and market participants
- Partner with business development and marketing departments to design appropriate programs for overall Exchange
- Manage all training equipments and any other resource to meet the training needs and objectives
- Hands – on experience in topics including but not limited to the fundamentals of derivatives trading, trading and surveillance, risk management, clearing & settlement procedures and the requirements of the Securities and Futures Act
- Minimum 5 -8 years of relevant experience with an international exchange, financial institution, brokerage or commodity trading houses
- Excellent communication and inter – personal skills
- Hands on experience in inspecting the books of market participants, scrutinising the processes and internal controls of market participants
- Sound knowledge of the front and back end processes in an exchange environment
- Well versed with SFA, Exchange Rules, Clearing Corporations Rules and/or any other regulatory rules
- Able to track regulatory requirements and keep abreast of developments in the market
- Experienced in auditing banks in the financial industry
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate at various levels in an organisation
- A team player with excellent inter-personal skills and the aptitude to learn
- Manage the designs, installations, configurations and monitoring of various firewalls, Juniper firewalls & VPN
- Providing support for the various firewalls, security architecture and functionalities
- Possess sound fundamentals and in-depth knowledge of Network Security Concepts and various VPNs
- Perform risk assessments on potential vulnerabilities within the network
- Strong experience in intrusion detection systems
- Possess CISA & CISSP certifications and a good knowledge of CISCO products
- Hands-on knowledge of OSI Model and TCP/IP protocol suites (IP, ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, FTP, TFTP)
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in Banking or FII industry
- A deep understanding of internet-facing server security in a Windows environment
- Able to perform server forensics work and function in the event of a real-time hacker attack
- Hands-on experience hardening and securing a network with Windows servers and workstations
- Able to deploy and operate anti-virus software like Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Experience in preparation of ISO27001 or BS7799 audits
- Experience with CA Unicenter would be an advantage
